About Devizes Opendoors

We support people who are homeless or vulnerable because they don’t have stable homes. Alongside supporting our guests with their housing, we work with them to access:
- mental and physical health services
- money and debt advice
- alcohol and drug addiction support
What We Do
We host 3 sessions a week at the Southbroom Centre, designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment for 15–30 guests where we provide:
- cooked meals and free surplus food
- showers and toilets
- hot drinks
- clothing and shoes
- access to the internet and a phone
- company from staff and volunteers

The Staff
- Coordinator: The Lead for our daily operations.
- Deputy Coordinator: Supporting our guests and sessions.
- Administrator: Keeping the charity running smoothly behind the scenes.
The Volunteers
- Selfless Individuals: A massive thank you to our 50 – 60 local volunteers who staff the kitchen, lead the shifts, and offer friendship to our guests.
- Trustees: Our 10 Trustees provide the strategic leadership and governance required to keep our charity sustainable and safe.
Community & Wellbeing
More Than Just a Service
Opendoors is a place to rediscover skills and build community. Beyond our core services, we host a variety of visiting professionals and social activities to improve our guests’ wellbeing. From foot care and hairdressing to our monthly craft and skill-building sessions, there is always an opportunity to try something new.
- Skill Building: Monthly craft sessions and creative workshops.
- Games & Connection: Table football, pool, board games, and the occasional quiz!
- Visiting Services: Periodic access to hairdressers and healthcare professionals.
We also signpost to other agencies and work closely with other voluntary and local authority bodies.
